The United Methodist Women are holding their annual Holiday Bazaar 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 9, at the church at 801 Via de la Paz.
There is a wide assortment of costume jewelry, quilts and napkins. There are some clever holiday decorations and handmade Christmas ornaments. There were also plates, and serving dishes, if you know someone who is just starting out in an apartment.
There are also handmade, one-of-a-kind baby blankets, receiving blankets and other great gifts for a newborn.
UMW members advocate on behalf of women, children and youth around the world. They serve as communion stewards, greeters, liturgists, choir members, Sunday School teachers, coffee fellowship hosts and prepare food for various church events throughout the year.
They hold two annual fundraising events: the Rummage Sale early in the year and the Holiday Bazaar.
Preparation for the Bazaar goes on throughout the year with crafters meeting weekly. Money raised at the Rummage Sale and Bazaar goes to support mission work both locally and globally.
