PCH Closed between Sunset and Temescal

A big rig hit a power pole between Temescal Canyon Road and Sunset Boulevard around noon, today (December 27), according to KABC and Pacific Coast Highway was closed in both directions.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews arrived and found two people trapped inside the vehicle at the scene, according to spokesperson Mia Rose Wong.

It was determined the line was still energized and with DWP’s help the two people were able to escape the rig.

According to Los Angles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart, DWP is working to fix the line.

According to ABC, PCH is expected to open by 5 p.m. Traffic remains bumper to bumper on Sunset Boulevard and Temescal Canyon Road.
