When Senior Alliance Meets on June 24

Dr. Frederick Singer will be the speaker at the Palisades Senior Alliance meeting at 10:30 a.m. on. Monday, June 24 in the Palisades Library community room, 861 Alma Real. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Speaking on “Bone Health in Older Adults,” Singer will discuss nutritional needs, exercise and possible medications and how that affects bone heath.
His research interests are skeletal complications of malignancy, Paget’s disease of bone, primary hyperparathyroidism, osteoporosis and the effect of vitamin D on breast cancer and malignant melanoma.

Singer is the director of the Endocrine/Bone Disease Program at the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Providence Saint John’s Health Center and is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is also a board member of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
