MacLeod, Wishnick Named Executive Producers
Gavin MacLeod and Arnie Wishnick will serve as executive producers of “BARK! The Musical,” which will open on August 31 at Pierson Playhouse at Theatre Palisades.
MacLeod, known for his role as Captain Merrill Stubing on the popular TV series “The Love Boat,” served five-years as Pacific Palisades honorary mayor. He and wife Patti currently call the California desert home, but still consider the Palisades their hometown and visit whenever they can.
“I am pleased and proud to continue my association with a place that I love, especially by supporting one of its crown jewels–Theatre Palisades,” MacLeod said.
Wishnick, who has been the executive director of the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce for 25 years, will add “BARK!” to his resume. Previously he was the co-producer of “The Marvelous Wonderettes” (with Palisades resident Steve Guttenberg), as well as “Damn Yankees” and “The Pajama Game.”
“I love Theatre Palisades, musicals, and dogs,” Wishnick said, “so producing ‘BARK!’ was a natural fit.”
Wishnick dedicates this show to two of his beloved best friends, now watching over him–Sandy, a yellow Labrador retriever, and Jack, a golden retriever/German shepherd mix.
The show, directed by Susan Stangl, and produced by Ria Erlich and Sylvia Grieb, will run weekends, August 31 through October 7. Call (310) 454-1970 or visit: theatrepalisades.com.
Look for a future blog about the three Pacific Palisades dogs who were selected as winners of the cutest/friendliest/most photogenic dogs and will be featured on the “BARK!” poster.
With thanks! Valuable information!
