Aileen Harper will address Palisades Senior Alliance on Monday.

The Palisades Alliance for Seniors will present a program titled “Who Pays for Long-Term Care?” at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 13, in the Palisades Library community room. The program is free and open to the public.

Aileen Harper, executive director of the Center for Health Care Rights, will be the speaker. She will explain Medicare’s limited coverage of skilled care in a nursing home and at home.

Harper will also review Medi-Cal Long-Term Care eligibility rules covering custodial care or personal care services. If you have a spouse or parent that may require care in the future, this program will help explain options.

The Center for Health Care Rights was founded in 1984 as the Medicare Advocacy Project. The nonprofit’s mission is to deliver free, high-quality Medicare and related healthy insurance education, counseling and legal service to Los Angeles County residents.  (Visit:healthcarefights.org.)
