About 20 brides-to-be were treated to a special wedding registry event at Elizabeth Lamont on March 16.
LA-based stylist Jessica Cortez, Expert-organizer Tori Springer and flowers by Becca’s In Bloom were all on hand to answer questions. There were refreshments and treats from Sweet Laurel Bakery.
“We really take care of our brides,” said Palisadian and store owner Elizabeth Lamont. The registry is online, so even if people are out-of-state, the store’s registry is connected to Zola, which allows people to select items.
The store has bedding, towels, napkins, and bar ware. All can be monogrammed – even the fluted champagne glasses that can be used for a toast.
“We have a design team,” Lamont said, “and our furniture is made here.”
She said for example if several families wanted to help the bride and groom with a special piece of furniture, such as a dinner table, the store could do that.
“Most people don’t want China, anymore,” Lamont said, noting that used to be a popular registry item.
The store does have art (from local artists), photo frames and “amazing décor items.” And they are fun items that a bride who already has an established home might not have, such as a menorah or a tabletop crystal Simon Pearce Christmas tree.
“We can do a design consultation for a bride,” Lamont said, noting the store’s design center is above the retail operation.
“We have a lot of unique items,” Lamont said. “We create a lot of the items here at our store, and we do special things with a California focus.”
Anyone who has participated in a wedding lately knows there are other obligatory gifts that also must be purchased. “We have great bridesmaid, groomsman and mother-of-the bride gifts,” Lamont said, and they even have great thank you cards.
Each gift on the registry is delivered as a hand-wrapped box with a card and image of the gift inside, making it easy for a bride to respond with thanks.
For those with no weddings in the future, but do celebrate Easter, it is worth a visit to the store, located at 15231 Sunset Boulevard. There are pastel and chocolate cream eggs, solid chocolate rabbis, cute table items and baskets, and a mossy twig bunny with a burlap bow.
