Construction Not to Start Before 7 a.m.
Generally, unless there is a special permit, construction in Los Angeles is not allowed before 7 a.m. or after 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturdays and holidays the hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and no construction is allowed on Sundays (LAMC 41.40).
A resident contacted Circling the News and wrote, “Contractors have been working on the exterior of the building at Monument and Swarthmore all week, with metal extension ladders and loud conversations causing the majority of the noise.”
Workers appear to be putting the finishing touches on the Veronica Beard store, which according to the Palisades Village website is opening on April 5.
“Is it too much to wait until 7 a.m. to start work?” a resident wondered in an email sent to CTN. “We already have to deal with Caruso’s delivery trucks on Monument all morning, now this.”
CTN sent an email to Palisades Village General Manager Sunil Watumull about the alleged violation, but he had not responded by post time.
