Martha Meade won first prize for her painting on canvas at the annual art show.

Group’s Next Meeting Will Be April 23

The awards ceremony for the bi-annual Palisades Art Association group art show was held on April 13 at the Palisades Library community room.

The top three winners in Painting on Canvas were Martha Meade, first place for “The Thinker,” Krishna Thangavelu, second for “Lagoon” and third place went to Lily Broek for “Liberty.”

In the Painting Under Glass category, Sally Flemming took first for “Baby Jilee Mey” and Annette Alexakis took second and third for “Kawaii” and “Dusk at Spyglass,” respectively.

For Sculpture, first place went to Rosie Galanis for “Machine,” second went to Terri Bromberg for “Alabaster Torso” and Ruth Dewar captured third for “Curly.”

If you are an artist and would like to find out more about the Art Association, try to attend the group’s next general meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, at the Library.

Guest speaker Liz Hooker will discuss how she incorporates art experiences into her AirBnB business. She will also do a painting and dirty-pour presentation.

This event is open to the public and everyone who attends is encouraged to bring materials to take notes.
