Ice Cream Social with Oceanaires at Lutheran Church,

National Opera Soloist Andy Rawn at Corpus Christi

The Velvet Frogs will be singing at the ice cream social.

OCEANAIRES:

The Oceanaires Barbershop Chorus will present an Old Tyme Ice Cream Social featuring the award-winning barbershop quartet The Velvet Frogs. They will be joined by special guest quartets Vixen and Oddly Enuf.

The Saturday event starts at 2 p.m. at the Palisades Lutheran Church, 15905 Sunset Blvd. Tickets are $15 and include not only the entertainment, but all the ice cream you can eat. Tickets can be ordered at brownpapertickets.com or calling 323-247-SING (7464).

The Santa Monica Oceanaires is a non-profit 501(c)(3) group founded in 1976. Its roster consists of more than 45 men (including several Palisadians) who meet weekly to sing barbershop style. It is an official chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society.

 

ANDY RAWN:

A Classic Irish Songs concert will be the focus of national tour opera soloist Andy Rawn this Saturday at 3 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 880 Toyopa Dr.

Rawn, who lives in the Palisades,  says this is the “kickoff for Father Liam’s Ireland Praties and Pub Tour.” The cost is $10. For reservations and tickets call, (310) 459-2326.

Rawn will sing various Irish favorites including “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling,” “Danny Boy,” “The Kerry Dance Trottin’ to the Fair,” and “May the Road Rise Up to Meet you.”
