LOOKY HERE: City Council Wants to Recognize Palisades Residents

The Los Angeles City Council wants to make it up to residents who lost their homes, businesses and all of their possessions at 10 a.m. on January 9 at City Hall, Room 340, 200 N. Spring Street. Please RSVP using this link- click here.

And will they do that by helping with building money, handing out checks, taking on insurance companies (which is still not paying a year later), helping seniors return home,  helping those who lived in Tahaitian Terrace and Palisades Bowl or taking responsibility for the deaths and fire?

No—instead they have something more meaningful planned– they are asking residents to  attend a Los Angeles City Council Presentation commemorating the One-Year Remembrance of the Pacific Palisades Fire.

Councilmember Traci Park’s office writes “Your presence matters. Being there is a powerful reminder to City leaders that recovery is ongoing and that rebuilding requires continued attention, coordination, and support from all levels of government. Together, we can ensure that the voices of Palisades residents remain front and center as recovery efforts continue.”

Where is Steadfast? All that money and all those industry leaders yet those who are boots on the ground don’t see or hear them. Most local recovery groups don’t have 2 nickels to rub together, and they all know and see one another weekly! Steadfast seems to be all hat and no cattle. Hope I’m wrong.

They burn us out through incompetence. Make us grovel for building permit fees. And ask us to come to their house to be honored. Why do we have to go to them! Why don’t they make the investment in time and effort we have to recover. It is like asking the hospital patient to come over to our house to be told what how sorry we are they are struggling with a disease they gave us.

    Unbelievable arrogance.
