Connie Mercurio will demonstrate how to make wreaths.

The Palisades Garden Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 2, to watch floral designer Connie Mercurio craft two different holiday wreaths and show how to decorate holiday topiaries. The meeting at the Woman’s Club on Haverford is open to the public. Free parking.

The topic of Mercurio’s presentation will be “How to Brighten Your Holidays by Creating a Festive Look in Your Home: Holiday Wreaths for Christmas and Hanukkah.” There will be an opportunity drawing for the completed wreaths. Additionally, Mercurio will bring holiday topiaries to sell.

Mercuio is a professional designer, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She worked with florists in New Orleans, designing dish gardens, wreaths, funeral sprays, casket pieces, Mardi Gras celebration pieces and of course, wreaths for every occasion.

She moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s and worked and continues to work as a background performer, while continuing her design work. She also started a small business, Creator Décor. Visit: pacpalgardenclub.org.
