Today in Pacific Palisades, the EPA was working across from Corpus Christi Church and along Toyopa Drive. Around noon, it appeared that most of the homes had been checked between Carey and Drummond.
Once these homes have the white EPA certification sign in their neighborhood, it allows either the Army Corp of Engineers the ability to remove debris (opt-in) or an outside contractor to come in (opt out).

Below is the map, which shows the planned zones that are scheduled over the next few days.
According to the EPA sites progress metrics, there are 116 residential parcels that have been inspected and certified.
There are 1,192 parcels that have been deferred to Phase 2 – that means those parcels were too unsafe for EPA to enter and they will be referred to the Army Corp of Engineers. There are 12,244 residences remaining to be inspected by the EPA.
Regarding commercial properties there are 268 that need to be inspected, and nine properties have been deferred.
As one resident wrote, “It was good to see the progress in the upper Huntington. Now let’s get Army Corps going in as soon as EPA clears a block.”
