The Pacific Palisades Rotary Club will host its weekly meeting with speaker Elizabeth Ralston on Tuesday, July 20, and the public is invited.
A volunteer with Citizen Climate Lobby, an organization dedicated to creating the political will to combat climate change, Ralston will speak on “Putting a Price on Carbon: the Most Effective Tool to Combat Climate Change.”
After earning her doctorate in mathematics, Ralston had a 25-year-career in software development. When she retired, she was active in the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and served for two years as president.
She will discuss how climate change will impact life and work in LA area; what is the most likely timetable for national climate solutions; and what actions individuals and Rotary club members can take.
The Zoom meeting will be open to all Palisades residents, starting at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Ralston will speak at 6 p.m. with the presentation ending at 6:30 p.m. There will be a 10-minute question and answer at the end of the presentation.
