(Editor’s note: Since rain is predicted this weekend–if there is a change of date or time, please let this editor know, editor@circlingthenews.com, and I’ll update this information because I know this is one concert people won’t want to miss.)

The concert will take place at 1647 Michael Lane at the former home of trumpet player Jens Lindemann.
A free concert, “Palisades Concert of Hope,” will be presented at 1 p.m. on January 4 at 1647 Michael Lane. The concert will take place on the site of the rubble of internationally-known trumpet play Jens Lindemann’s home that was lost in the Palisades Fire. Bring a chair to enjoy the outdoor concert in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains.
Music will include Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and other Big Band classics from the great masters, such as Ellington and Gillespie.
This will be a chance to hear Lindemann, joined by piano soloist Ian Parker and the Los Angeles Big Band All-Stars, which include some of the finest studio and jazz musicians in Los Angeles. Joining Lindemann on trumpet are Ryan DeWeese, Mike Cottone and Dan Rosenboom.
Trombone players will include James Miller and Stephane Tenney. On saxophone will be Carly Stock, James Day, Matt Valencia and Gabriel Burns. Joel Taylor will be on drums and Kevin Art on Bass. Music director for this prime concert is Matt Catingub.
Lindemann is a German-born Canadian trumpet soloist, who lives in Pacific Palisades and is a professor with high distinction at UCLA. He was the first classical brass soloist to be awarded the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honor.
Classically trained at the renowned Juilliard School in New York and McGill University in Montreal, Lindemann has played both jazz and classical in every major concert venue in the world: from the Philharmonics of New York, Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Moscow and Tokyo to Carnegie Hall and even the Great Wall of China click here.
