Program and Free Luncheon
Set for Seniors at Woman’s Club
The Palisades Alliance for Seniors will hold its December 17 meeting at the Woman’s Club, 901 Haverford Ave. (Please note this is a change of venue.) The program and lunch are open to all and free of charge. To help in food planning, please RSVP for the lunch by calling (424) 260-6167. There is free on-site parking, but space is limited, so attendees should allow extra time to find street parking.
The program, which begins at 10:30 a.m., will include a holiday lunch made possible by a generous grant from the Woman’s Club. Entertainment will be provided by former Palisades High students Harrison Garff and Ramin Rastegar, who are now music students at UCLA.
The meeting topic is “Sharing Your Personal History: Holiday Memories.” Screenwriter Dana Stevens, who hosted the well-received “Writing Your Personal History” program in July, will give tips on how to inspire memories that relate to family.
Stevens has written or adapted many screenplays, including “Safe
Haven,” “City of Angels,” and “For Love of the Game.” She was creator and executive producer of the CBS television series “Reckless,” currently streaming on Netflix. She is a regular advisor at the Sundance Institute writing labs and is currently adapting the best-selling novel “The Nightingale” for Tri-Star Pictures, and a memoir by Matt Logelin entitled “Two Kisses for Maddy” for Sony.
Stevens asks that attendees bring one photograph to the meeting to use as a jumping-off point to tell a holiday-related story or a memory, and to plan to share that memory in small story-telling groups. Visit: palisadesalliance.org.
