Laurie David has put her home up for sale, but one newspaper was confused.

A March 21 Celebrity Real Estate headline read “Laurie David Lists Her Pacific Palisades Estate on Umeo for $8.9 million

The story noted that environmental activist Laurie David, who was married to comedian and writer Larry David, is listing her Pacific Palisades property for $8,975,000. The home was designed by the Los Angeles-based firm Johnston Marklee and was custom built in 2013. The 5,000 sq.ft. house has four bedrooms and five bathrooms. It was built on a half-acre lot that was purchased for $2 million in 2011.

Palisades News then took the story and made a few “improvements” for their March 22 post. The new title was “Larry David Puts His $8.9M Palisades Estate on the Market.” The article said, “Larry David, the renowned comedian and co-creator of “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm is parting ways with one of his picturesque properties in Pacific Palisades, according to a post from Reaktor.com (sic).

The article continued “Larry David, aged 76, co-created “Seinfeld” with fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld in 1989, garnering numerous awards over the nine-season run. He also created and stars in HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, currently airing its 12th and final season.”

One reader, who saw the story on Realtor.com wrote CTN and said, “I didn’t know Larry owned the Umeo Road home.” It was a surprise to Laurie, too. The couple divorced about 17 years ago.

It appears Larry still has his Riviera home, a place in Montecito and one on Martha’s Vineyard, but alas no property on Umeo.

Another reader pointed out that the paper even misspelled realtor.com as reaktor.com.
