Okay. The Palisades Fire destroyed nearly 7,000 homes and businesses, which means some families will not have a home to host their families for the Thanksgiving feast. But even if you’ve lost your home like Turkey Trot organizer David O’Connell, you can still participate in one annual tradition.

The 11th Annual Palisades Turkey Trot / Powered by XBP Global returns to Pacific Palisades on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2025. This year’s race introduces a brand-new 5K course starting and finishing at Palisades Green. The new course, which loops through the Via de las Olas bluffs, has been approved with help from Councilmember Traci Park’s office.

The festivities kick off at 8 a.m. and runners and walkers of all ages are invited to take part. Organizers expect more than 2,000 runners to join this year’s trot. Money raised goes to local charities.

“Each year the Palisades Turkey Trot grows bigger and better, and this year’s new 5K course makes it extra special,” said O’Connell, event co-founder. “It’s the perfect way for families and friends to start their Thanksgiving morning with fun, fitness, and community spirit.”

“This year’s event is less about running or walking and more about starting Thanksgiving day with a stronger resolve to rebuild after the devastating Palisades fire. The rebuild will take years of effort, but XBP Global is proud to walk alongside Palisadians, ensuring traditions like the Turkey Trot keep hope alive while the hard work continues,” said Andrej Jonovic, CEO of XBP Global.

The Palisades Turkey Trot is made possible by generous support from presenting sponsor XBP Global, along with community partners Equinox and The Palisades Village.
