YeeHaw Day Offers Performers, Carnival Rides and Food

Fitz and the Tantrums will headline the Main Stage at Yee Haw Day this year.

Since 2004, Palisades Elementary has held a fall carnival called Yee Haw Day. Then, parent Nancy Fracchiolla came up with the idea for the event to raise funds for programs not covered by LAUSD, such as music, physical education, drama and money to hire additional aids to keep class sizes smaller. Fracchiolla will be honored on the main stage this year at the Saturday, October 18 event.

The event runs from noon to 6 p.m. and the main stage headliner begins at 5 p.m. Since Palisades Elementary is closed and soon to be under construction because of the fire, the fun will be held at the Brentwood Science Magnet School, at 740 Gretna Green Way, Brentwood, 90049. Entrance to YeeHaw is on Bundy between San Vicente and Montana. Visit click here.

“This festival is a powerful reminder of what community looks like when we come together,” said Event Chair Cali Tendle. “Yee Haw Day is about resilience, joy, togetherness, and showing our kids that even when everything changes, our Pali spirit holds strong.” This will be the first large-scale gathering since the fire.

The event, which is open to the public, is “super-sized” this year.  Multi-platinum hitmakers Fitz and the Tantrums will headline the first-ever Main Stage. Known for electrifying live performances and chart-topping hits like “HandClap” and “The Walker,” Fitz and the Tantrums will bring their signature high-energy acoustic show to what promises to be the most exciting Yeehaw Day yet.

Joining them as a special guest is chart-topping rock band X Ambassadors (acoustic), best known for hits like “Renegades” and “Unsteady.” Their dynamic sound and powerful live performance will add an unforgettable layer to this year’s festival.

There will be a chili cookoff (a classic YeeHaw tradition), carnival rides and a market place showcasing local artisans and vendors. And of course, food selections from top local food trucks and restaurants.

Children 12 & under will receive free admission, but a ticket is still required for entry. Guests 13 & older must purchase a ticket bundle $50 which includes an entry wristband and $30 in ride/game tickets. Food must be purchased separately. No dogs, bikes or scooters allowed on campus. For tickets: click here.
