Photos of those Killed in the Palisades Fire Sought

Jeffrey Takeyama 69 (Malibu) was one of the victims of the Palisades Fire.

Ioanna Kostopulou, planning manager for Spectrum News 1, wrote “I am reaching out to ask for your help. I am working on a segment where we want to commemorate the victims who died in the January fires and while I have the names of many victims, I do not have many pictures.

Is there a way you can help me find a list of the victims with pictures that we can run in our segment? Or can you connect me with groups who might be able to help?

Circling the News ran the names of the deceased in an August 7 story https://www.circlingthenews.com/fire-deaths-shou…e-ones-prevented/ ‎but did not run photos. If anyone can help Kostopoulou with a photo, email her at [email protected]

The town needs a bronze plaque to honor the fallen…and to remind us that city positions should be awarded based on competency and nothing else.

Hi Sue, my sister, Marilyn Hamilton, died in the fire at her home on Las Lomas Ave. Her parents were long time Palisadians Ted Mackie and Mary Mackie Hagerth. I’ll email Ioannda. Thanks, Suzanne “Suki” Mackie

Hello, I am the sister-in-law of Lora Swayne who was one of the 19 who died in the Eaton Fire. I am trying to help the California Community Foundation get in touch with relatives of the 31 who died in both the Eaton and Palisades Fires. As you may know, there will be a Rose Parade Float honoring those who lost homes/business in both areas as well as honoring the 31. I offered to help give a list of the 31 plus any family members and it’s been quite a task for me and I just found this site while looking up one of the people in the Palisades. If anyone can contact me, I can put family names/contact info on the list, and give them to my contact person ( Giliean Silsby with Cal Comm Foundation.. there is FB page if you’d like to see the float ) . They would really like to get in touch with families before the Rose Parade. Thanks, Shirley McCombs-Swayne 818-730-3930

I was so shocked to hear of Marilyn Hamilton’s death. I was a close friend of her’s in the 70’s and I worked for her father Ted for many years at his bike shop in the Palisades. I kept in touch with Marilyn over the years, though I had not seen her recently. I wondered how she was fairing after the fire, and assumed she escaped and was perhaps residing with her sister Suki. This is just devastating news! I am heartbroken. Rest in Peace Marilyn. I will always remember you…..
