Palisades PitStop Will Reopen July 3

The Palisades Pitstop Car Wash will reopen on July 3.

Just in time to have your car washed for that July 4 trip, the Palisades PitStop is reopening on July 3. “I’m bringing guys in,” said owner Kevin Miller, who added his employees are ready to go back to work, and they need your cars.

Miller said that they will do everything from simple car washes to complete detailing. And if one has not made an appointment, they will take “drive-up washes.”

“We’re excited to open,” Miller said and added that initially the business will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

He’s hoping that people will get the word out, so that “we can grow to seven days a week. No one wants to do that more than me.”

Miller hopes his old customers from Brentwood, Santa Monica and Rustic Canyons will return to the car wash. He knows that many people have returned to the Palisades and the more stores and businesses that open the sooner the town returns to a semblance of normalcy.

“It’s still your town,” he said. “We have to have the hope, belief and confidence that we can build it up.”

Miller moved to California from Ohio in 2000, his first job was with Westside Rentals, partnering with Mark and Lonnie Verge, who are Pacific Palisades residents.

Miller and wife Lindsey moved to the Palisades in 2012. Westside Rentals was sold in 2017, and Miller stayed on with the new owners until the transition was complete on May 1, 2018.

He was looking for a family business and in February 2019, the Millers purchased the Pitstop from owners Marilyn and Gary Mons.

Once the car wash was established, Miller started a new business a trash-bin cleaning services, which this editor used (it kept maggots out of trash bins in the summer). The trucks for that business survived the fire and Miller will once again take requests for bin cleaning for residents who have been able to return home.
