Orchid Show and Sale:
One of the nation’s top orchid shows, the ninth annual Huntington Orchid Show and Sale will take place this weekend October 17 to 19 at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens (Brody Center), 1151 Oxford Road, San Marino, CA 91108.
The show will feature exhibits by growers from Southern California and around the world, as well as a wide selection of orchids for purchase from domestic and international vendors. The show and sale open are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission to the event is free with general admission https://www.huntington.org/event/9th-annual-international-orchid-show-and-sale
Tickets and a list of the exhibitors and vendors are available on the website. Members of the Malibu Orchid Society can request a complimentary ticket for the Huntington Orchid Show. Orchid Society Monthly Meeting:
The Malibu Orchid Society Monthly meeting will be held via Zoom at 7 p.m. on October 21, with featured speaker Gayle Brodie. Her talk “How to Get Bigger, Better Orchid Flowers” will focus on how to grow strong, healthy plants.

Brodie is an accredited judge with the American Orchid Society and has received 36 AOS awards in 14 different genera. At the 2017 Santa Barbara International Show, Brodie won “Best Orchid In Show.” She repeated that designation with her orchid at the 2023 Huntington Botanical Gardens International Orchid Show.
Weekly, since 2012, she volunteers in the Huntington Library Greenhouses. A retired certified public accountant, she lives in Thousand Oaks with her husband Steve and her Papillon, Jax.
