Pacific Palisades Friends and Newcomers Club invite people to sponsor a foster child with gifts this holiday season.
Pacific Palisades Friends and Newcomers Club, a social organization, is working to ensure that every camper with Happy Trails receives a wrapped gift delivered right to their cabin this holiday season.
Happy Trails for Kids was started by Palisadian Pepper Edmiston in 1982 as Camp Good Times so that her son David could attend a sleep-away camp.
David, who was stricken with childhood leukemia when he was two years old, survived cancer but his treatments left him with intellectual disabilities and epileptic.
David’s impairments had become so pronounced by 1993, that his family founded a new program Happy Trails for Kids click here. For 13 years, Happy Trails hosted families who were raising seriously ill or incapacitated boys and girls – either their youngsters by birth or through foster care. Happy Trails celebrated children with challenges and the families who loved them.
