First the school was taken away, and then in an effort to reopen Palisades Charter High School, the beautifully manicured, well-kept baseball field was plowed over to put up portable classrooms.
The baseball team needs the community’s support. Student athletes are doing what they can to raise funds by hosting a “Ramp up for Spring Ball” training camp for kids ages 7 to 12, that will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on December 6 at the Bad News Bears Field at 1411 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, in West Los Angeles.
This fundraising event will bring the community together by giving young players a chance to meet and work out with Palisades High School players, learn the game and have fun.
There will be different stations where youth can train with the players and the PaliHi coaches, Jordan Myrow (head varsity coach), Marc Iadanza (head JV coach) and Nate Gilman (pitching coach). Fundamentals worked on will include hitting, throwing, infield and outfield defense and base running.
The cost is $75 per child and those participating are asked to bring a bat, helmet, glove, protective cup and baseball wear. To register: click here.
