CRIME IN THE PALISADES: June 29 to July 5

Pacific Palisades mostly burned, but there are some standing homes and businesses.

Some of those houses are unoccupied now, either because it’s summer and people are on vacation, or some people have a second home – far away from Los Angeles, or people are waiting for insurance to pay for smoke remediation and asbestos/lead removal.

Senior Lead Office Brian Espin wrote in a July 12 update, “if you are not occupying your home, please have someone check your property as frequently as possible. I am anticipating our theft crimes increasing due to the amount of construction equipment and tools being stored on people’s property.

“Please educate your working crews on your property to best secure their equipment and tools so we can try and make it harder for thieves to take our stuff,” Espin said. “Last week’s crime picture shows multiple incidents on Bollinger. Detectives are working the case and looking to connect any other crimes where they could be related to the same people involved in other areas.”

He also encouraged people to get a security system that will give instant notification if anyone is on that person’s property. “This helps us (LAPD), if you can see that someone is in your house and can give a good description of the suspects,” Espin said.  “It will bump our response up to a priority call instead of a non-priority (alarm only).”

  1. Alton Turner says:

Just imagine what will happen to the Palisades when this happens….

The California Senate has passed SB 549, granting LA County authority to purchase fire‑destroyed lots for minimal cost and convert them into low‑income housing, directly contradicting Gavin Newsom’s previous assurance to homeowners that such government‑driven property conversions wouldn’t happen.

Sorry guys, but you’ve been played from the start. You were NEVER going to get your houses back. That was ALWAYS the plan. You brought ALL of this on yourselves by voting for the same incompetent, corrupt politicians time after time.
