Council Will Hear Permit Fee Waivers Tomorrow, Residents Urged to Speak

Pacific Palisades residents who want to see the building permit fee waivers approved by the City Council, should plan to go and speak before the full City Council tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at the John Ferraro Council Chamber, Room 340 City Hall, 200 North Spring Street, L.A. Ca. 90012. The waivers are Item 23 on the agenda. click here.

For a parking pass from Councilmember Traci Park, call 213-473-7011 before 9:30 tomorrow, December 2. Have the make of the car, the model and the license plate available.

Generally, public comments are held before the meeting and everyone speaking will have one minute. The Councilmember is urging people to arrive early because the room does fill up.

Councilmembers may not be aware how many seniors (between 25 to 30 percent of the Palisades population) will be affected. Many will not have the money to rebuild.

Councilmembers should be made aware that many of the homes in Pacific Palisades are generational just like Altadena.

Councilmembers may not be aware that people either have no insurance, or almost no insurance because of the Fair Plan.

The members may not be aware that some of these homes are original two-bedroom homes from the 1930s and people just want to rebuild so they can go home.

Make it your story—but remember you only have a minute to plead.

By waiving the fees, the council may save a resident between $40,000 and $95,000, which for many will make the difference of coming back or not.
