The CIF Los Angeles Section has released its 2025 All-City football team and Palisades High wide receiver Demare Dezeurn has been named Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Dolphins to a perfect regular season and a berth in the Open Division playoffs.
Dezeurn, a junior who transferred from Bishop Alemany after placing fourth in the 100-meter dash at the CIF state track and field finals last spring, was chosen Western League Player of the Year in December.
Also a safety on defense, he led the team with 27 total touchdowns—21 receiving, one rushing, three on interception returns and two more on kickoff returns. He made 64 receptions for 1,372 yards on offense and scored all three of the Dolphins’ touchdowns in their quarterfinal loss to Garfield.
Joining Dezeurn on the Open Division Offensive team are five other Dolphins—quarterback Jack Thomas, running back Harrison Carter, wideout Malachi Ross, guard Hunter Kizzee and tackle Liam Hudson.
Thomas was picked Western League Co-Offensive Player of the Year after a senior season in which he had 43 touchdown passes and only three interceptions. He completed 183 of 299 passes for 3.284 yards, had a QB rating of 134.3 and also ran for three scores. Carter rushed for 403 yards and eight touchdowns and added 33 receptions for 444 yards and three touchdowns. Ross had 50 catches for 787 yards and nine touchdowns.
Hudson was named Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Western League and led the Dolphins in pancake blocks.
Two Dolphins made the Open Division Defensive team, junior middle linebacker Enzo Allen and senior cornerback Tavian Talbert. Allen led the Dolphins with 121 tackles (90 assisted, 31 solo), including seven for losses, with one interception and six pass deflections and was a first team All-League pick. Talbert had two interceptions, 10 pass breakups and 92 tackles (38 solo, 54 assisted), including five for losses. He earned second team All-League honors.
Quarterback Chris Fields III of City champion Carson was selected Most Valuable Player. Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Deandre Kirkpatrick from runner-up Crenshaw and Cougars coach Terrence Whitehead was voted Coach of the Year. He took over as interim coach after Robert Garrett, the winningest football coach in section history, was placed on administrative leave in August.
Palisades finished 10-1 and won the Western League under Dylen Smith, who improved to 28-7 in three seasons.
