Holiday Party of the Year – and Residents Are Invited

Last year’s party included dancing and a dance contest.

With all the holiday invites this time of the year, here’s one you won’t want to miss. Jimmy Dunne is orchestrating a “Palisades Holiday Soiree” at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6,  at the American Legion, 15247 La Cruz Dr.

You don’t want to miss this event. You might say “but I don’t play bocce.” It doesn’t matter. Jimmy, a Past Citizen of the Year, is opening it up to anyone living in Pacific Palisades, but space is limited to 200 guests.

This editor attended the party last year and it was a “hoot,” because no one can throw a party like Jimmy.  The wine was not only very good – but free. The catered food delicious and Jimmy had turned the Legion into a dapper nightclub with live music.

There was a band, there were games. Jimmy told CTN that this year “There’s a surprise guest list, but I can’t tell you . . . .hold onto your hat.”

Last year, this editor thought she was going to fall over laughing as adults made “Musical Chairs,” more competitive than Thursday Night Football. Except it was two petite women who took the guys out and then vied for champion.

Musical chairs was a very competitive game.

There was a singing contest (and with enough wine, everyone sounds good) and a dance contest. Participants were reminded how much fun games can be at parties– especially with Jimmy leading them.

“There are so many other special surprises this very special year,” Jimmy said. “If Palisades is or was your home, or if you just love our town—you’re welcome to attend!”

Dress is cocktail attire, which means residents can run over to BOCA this week, and have Denise Mangielli find exactly the right outfit for this holiday soiree.

Residents can come by themselves or with friends. The cost is $95 per person (and includes a great dinner, great wine, and amazing show).

Jimmy has said he will have special guest performers this year and added “It’s top secret, but the best choir in the country is coming to sing a special palisades song.”
