One of the most anticipated events of the year for flower lovers is the Malibu Orchid Society’s annual orchid auction.
On March 21, Tuesday, the Society will hold its auction at the Hart Lounge, Community United Methodist Church, 801 Via De La Paz. The orchids may be previewed at 6:45 pm. The Auction will start promptly at 7:15 pm. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend; attendance is free. www.malibuorchidsociety.org/
Orchid expert and educator, Doug Overstreet, will conduct the auction and provide culture tips on all auctioned plants.
There will beautiful orchids from the finest growers and hybridizers in Southern California as well as from some of the international vendors who exhibited at the recent Santa Barbara International Orchid Show.
There will be a great selection of unique and unusual orchids for both beginners and the advanced orchid grower.
This annual fund-raiser for the Orchid Society helps sustain their various educational activities.
The proceeds raised from the auction enable the Society to bring to the community excellent speakers for their monthly meetings on various orchid topics, ranging from how to grow the various orchid species and pest control to presentations on orchids in their native habitats.
