Death at Will Rogers Beach
Westside Current reported that a woman’s body was found on Will Rogers State Beach early Sunday, according to CBS news.
The discovery was made just after 12:30 a.m. near the shoreline of PCH and Temescal Canyon Road.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the deceased woman was nude and located near the tide.
At the time CBS reported, the cause of death was not known, and an investigation was underway.

UPDATE AUGUST 30: West Los Angeles Commanding Officer Captain Jonathan Tom, said that contrary to news reports, “the descendent was a 28 year old male. There was no evidence of foul play and it was unknown if he was experiencing homelessness.”
The man has been identified and CTN has reached out to the Coroner’s office to see if the name has been released.
Death at Structure Fire off Sunset
Around 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, a fire was reported in a home in the 13000 block of Westcove Drive (across from Paul Revere Middle School, off Sunset Boulevard).
It took 26 firefighters about 19 minutes to extinguish the fire inside the structure and attic.
According to LAFD Spokesperson Margaret Steward, “While conducting a search, firefighters located a person inside the home who was beyond medical help and determined deceased on scene. The LAFD Arson and Count-Terrorism Section is responding per protocol for a fire fatality. The Office of the LA County Coroner will be the point of contact regarding identification and cause of death.”
The age and gender of the deceased is unknown.
