Pumpkins Available at Y Patch

L.A. City ripped out the pumpkin patch in Santa Monica Canyon. Luckily, the Y’s annual patch in Simon Meadow will open on Monday.

Pumpkin Patch Opens Oct.1

The annual Palisades-Malibu YMCA pumpkin patch will open Monday, October 1, and run through October 30.

As always, there will be a wide selection of pumpkins to choose from at Simon Meadow, corner of Sunset Boulevard and Temescal Canyon Road. Free parking is available.

The Patch offers a hay maze, photo props and a bouncy house. Hours will be Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All proceeds benefit the local Y, a nonprofit organization. To arrange a field trip, call (310) 454-5591 or e-mail Oscar Rodriguez at oscarrodriguez@ymcla.org.

Additionally, a glass pumpkin sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday October 7 and October 21. Designed by artisans from the Santa Monica College Art Department, there will be one-of-a-kind glass jewelry, vases and art. Proceeds will benefit the SMC Art Department, the Y and local artists.
