SHOWER HEAD:

At our residence on Radcliffe, we had an outdoor shower that had the most amazing shower head. With thick hair, it was so appreciated. Now we’re in an apartment where the water trickles down and it takes forever to wash my hair. Luckily, the Maggie Gilbert Aquatics Center pool locker room has one of the best shower heads ever—it’s a joy to use. There are three times a day when residents can sign up to swim, Monday through Saturday – so easy and so nice to have a lane to oneself.

VOTE TODAY:

It is super easy to vote in Pacific Palisades at the Woman's Club at 901 Haverford Avenue in the June 2, Primary Election. Polls are open to 8 p.m. Remember if you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain. Change is up to you.

EVACUATION EXAMPLE:

A Palisadian who lives part time in Carmel, passed on the evacuation drill done there. First, was an alert: TEST TEST TEST THIS IS AN EVACUATION DRILL (ALERT #1 of 3). THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. “The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea is conducting a planned evacuation drill today. This is a voluntary DRILL and NOT a real emergency. If you choose to participate in today's live drill, you will receive instructions to practice safe evacuation of the City in the event of an emergency. Practice your household evacuation plan and gather your go bag. Please stand by for further notifications. Residents not participating are asked to avoid Ocean Ave during the drill from 9 to 11 a.m. residents were allowed to opt out of the drill, too.

The City then sent out a second message: TEST TEST TEST THIS IS AN EVACUATION DRILL (ALERT #2). THIS IS ONLY A DRILL. This is a VOLUNTARY evacuation DRILL and NOT a real emergency. Scenario: A simulated wildfire threat impacting northern Carmel-by-the-Sea. Drill participants proceed NOW to Ocean Ave and Monte Verde. Vehicles line up at Monte Verde and Ocean Ave and prepare to be escorted by Carmel PD to the Safe Zone. For bus transportation, please go to Junipero and Ocean at Carmel Plaza where you will see signs and volunteers. The bus is scheduled to depart multiple times during the drill starting first in about 15 minutes (9:15 a.m.) and will return after the drill is completed (about 10 to 10:30 a.m.). Sounds thorough. Where is Palisades in its evacuation planning?
