Musings
BLUE MOON:
The full moon tonight is a Blue Moon. One reason it’s called a blue because it is the second full moon in a calendar month - the first full moon appeared on May 1. This moon is the smallest full moon of 2026 (a "micromoon"), appearing roughly 6 to 7 percent smaller than an average full moon. It appears that way because it is located at the furthest point from the earth. The next Blue Moon will not happen again until December 31, 2028. The last blue moon took place August 19, 2024.
TIT FOR TAT:
Governor Gavin Newsom endorsed Mayor Karen Bass, days after the City of Los Angeles lawsuit against the State of Calfornia was quietly dismissed. Coincidence? Or is it tied to the $2.5 billion in fire relief funding that Newsom promised and was used to pay CalTrans to help with an immigration rally click here.
HIVE:
If you’re in the neighborhood of the Hive, located in the AMLI at 4242 Via Marina in Marina Del Rey around 8ish. Stop by and say “hi.” A group of displaced Pacific Palisades residents have been meeting there since January 2025 after the Palisades Fire destroyed the community. It’s a great group of people who have insight into what needs to be done in the community. Everyone is welcomed to join – and you never know who will show.
