Aaron Meyer Arrested for Burglary
Aaron Meyer, 26, was arrested by LAPD West LA Officers on Friday, October 18 at 9:10 p.m. He and a 41-year-old male were arrested for burglary after breaking into a Meyer family member’s home on Corona Del Mar, according to LAPD’s Rusty Redican. Meyer was booked on Saturday afternoon and was being held on $50,000 bail.
It is believed that Meyer has mental issues. Prior to this incident he terrorized several families and young children near Marquez Elementary by brandishing a knife.
At a Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting on September 12, Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore reported that Meyer had allegedly committed multiple acts of vandalism and threats in the Palisades, including slashing tires, yelling threats, punching a person in a car, using a hammer to break a car window, enticing young girls into his car with candy and committing elder abuse.
Some of these incidents occurred near Palisades and Marquez Elementary Schools. Moore said several incidents were never reported and some were reported and then dropped.
At that meeting, Moore reminded everyone about the importance of reporting crimes to the police so that action can be taken.
On Nextdoor Palisades, more than 110 people commented on sightings and urged others to file reports. One wrote that this was the same man that caused problems around Palisades Elementary last spring. “He has a drug problem and has been placed on a 5150 hold. People can’t keep him because he isn’t really committing a crime.”
Yet another person posted that the man had saved her aunt’s life by doing CPR “when she was run over and almost killed crossing the street in the Huntington. Aaron is actually a very nice guy.”
