INSIDER INFO:

A reader wrote “Whether one acknowledges or not the incompetence and proven cover-ups of Mayor Karen Bass, take a guess if one or more of the nonprofits in the Palisades formed to assist fire victims, becomes the site or backdrop for a fundraiser or photo-op for Bass in the coming months.”

If this reader is correct, I’ll ask them to put my money in a stock market because they seem to have insider information.

WHY I HATE MEAN GIRLS:

In high school I saw how mean some girls could be to other girls to get their way or to get a boy they felt they deserved. They’d pull hapless young men into the group to do their bad deeds. Why did the boys go along with it? To get laid, of course. It turns out I wasn’t the only person who saw how mean girls could be because a film “Mean Girls” addresses it. Now I may pen “Mean Girls the Adult Version” and see if I can have it made into a film, based in Pacific Palisades, of course.

Just a warning, if you hear a bad rumor about someone that is told with sincerity and earnestness by a Mean Girl, discount it. . . .and don’t pass it on.

LOT OF DEBRIS:

Palisadians organized by Team Palisades gathered on April 25 to clear brush and lots before inspections start on May 1. The Mayor’s office said that more than 26.2 tons of green waste was collected. (People who lost homes don’t have green bins to throw away vegetation.) Good job residents, good job team Palisades! Thank you to the Councilmember Traci Park and Mayor Karen Bass for providing trash pickup.

SM INAUGURAL JAZZ FESTIVAL:

The inaugural Santa Monica International Jazz Festival is the brainchild of master bassist Stanley Clarke. The performances at 1 p.m. on May 3 at Third Street Promenade (between Arizona Ave. and Santa Monica Blvd.) are free to the public. Tickets for all other events are available at the festival’s website.
