The fundraiser will feature a poker game.

Palisades resident and former Santa Monica Police Sergeant Steve Heineman tipped Circling the News that the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) is sponsoring a poker tournament for adults (21 and older).  The event starts at 5 p.m. this Saturday in the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge at 1600 Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica.

Table sponsorships, individual entries or dinner-only tickets are available, and all tickets include dinner, drinks and a drawing ticket. The first poker hand will be dealt at 6 p.m. sharp. Single tickets are $50 for dinner and event access and tournament entries start at $125 with sponsorships ranging in price to $1,500.

Heineman told CTN, “There are currently only 10 poker spots left, but plenty of room for people to come for the dinner, auction and party.”

He added that Captain Rudy Flores is in charge and “he is one of the kids I mentored way back when he was a teenager. I think we are getting old, Sue.”

CTN agrees, but no one is ever too old to help a charitable cause. (Visit: click here.).

Proceeds from this event will support PAL, an organization that fosters trust between youth and the men and women of the Santa Monica Police Department, through educational and cultural outreach programs.
