MORE FIREAID

By Sue Pascoe · February 12, 2026

While researching FireAid funds that were given to homeless nonprofits, I discovered another great FireAid recipient “College Access Plan.” According to its website “We are student-centered and foster meaningful interactions to assist students and their families through any and all college readiness and success.” The nonprofit received $500,000 from FireAid. On ProPublica, it was listed that College Access had $1,409,670 in revenue in 2024 – other salaries and wages listed were $925, 334 (68.2%)

SPAM EMAIL

In addition to email in languages I don’t recognize (В тариф входит), it makes me happy to get emails titled “garage door installation” and “appliance repair manual.” I don’t have to respond – and nowhere in this life, a previous or a future one will I repair a toaster oven or install a garage door. That would only end in injury.

CVS PROBLEMS

It appears that the “Wild West” feel of the destroyed Palisades has emboldened some teens who don’t feel they have to obey the law. The American Legion has now authorized security personnel during peak hours at that store. Ronald Reagan American Legion Post 283 Commander Joe Ramirez wrote on social media “We will take a no-tolerance approach to threats, harassment, vandalism and unsafe behavior. . . .I look forward to meeting with leaders at PaliHi, CVS, our American Legion, LAPD, and other local stakeholders to align on next steps.”
