Enjoy a Musical Interlude with Chamber Music Palisades

[caption id="attachment_37769" align="aligncenter" width="400"] Michele Zukovsky[/caption] Chamber Music Palisades will present a community afternoon concert in Brentwood at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. This free concert will feature Susan Greenberg, flute; Michele Zukovsky, clarinet; Stephanie Yu, violin; and Pierre Long-Tao Tang, piano. Reservations are not needed. Flutist Susan Greenberg enjoys a versatile career as soloist, chamber musician, symphony player, and recording artist. She is principal flute with the Santa Monica Symphony and the Vicente Chamber Orchestra and the Artistic Director of Chamber Music Palisades, which has now celebrated its 26th season. Pierre Long-Tao Tang, DMA is a pianist-conductor from Hong Kong and a staff collaborative pianist at UCLA. Tang completed a doctoral cognate in collaborative piano at University of Illinois. His most recent performances include St. Michael’s Church (Vienna), Lincoln Center (New York), and Chicago Symphony Center. Michele Zukovsky was the longest serving female woodwind player in the history of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, serving from 1961 at the age of 18 until her retirement on December 20, 2015. Since ending her decade's-long tenure with USC Thorton School of Music in 2017, Zukovsky has served as an applied faculty member at Azusa Pacific University  School of Music in California Violinist Stephanie Yu is a performer and composer who holds a Bachelor and Master of Music from the Juilliard School. An avid orchestral and chamber musician, she has performed in various venues nationally and internationally, including the Royal Albert Hall (London), Berghain (Berlin), Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Metropolitan Opera House (New York), Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center (New York), Carnegie Hall (New York), and Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles). She teaches at the USC Thornton School of Music. The concert will include 10 pieces including Bizet’s Carmen Rhapsody for flute, clarinet and piano: Brahms’ Sonata No.2, MVT. 1 for violin and piano: Rachmaninoff’s Prelude OP.32.No 12 for piano: and conclude with Joplin’s Afternoon Cakewalk for violin, clarinet and piano. The performance will be held at the Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 12000 San Vicente Blvd. Los Angeles 90049. Free parking is available in the underground church lot, which is located off Bundy, south of San Vicente closer to Montana on the east side. The door to the concert is the single front door facing San Vicente, at the corner of Bundy and San Vicente. Donations are welcome in person or through the website click here.
