Anthony Marguleas and the Amalfi Estates staff hosted their eighth annual Thanksgiving Pie Day on November 26. Marguleas purchased more than 100 apple and pumpkin pies from Homeboy Bakery, and happy clients and friends were the recipients – just in time for Thanksgiving.

At the Amalfi office on Monument, Marguleas and his staff were waiting by the door with pies as numerous residents stopped by.

“It is just great seeing so many friends, past clients and new clients coming into the office to socialize and give thanks,” said Margules, founder of Amalfi Estates.

The pies are made from scratch and freshly baked in a small-batch kitchen in downtown Los Angeles. The dedicated Homeboy staff proudly crafts each pie with a scrumptious, buttery crust and high-quality ingredients.

The Homeboy Bakery is a social enterprise division of Homeboy Industries, a community-based nonprofit organization that provides a second chance and safe space for young individuals who have been incarcerated or involved with gangs. An 18-month training certification program teaches participants essential skills and helps the youth rebuild their lives.

Almalfi’s partnership with Homeboy has resulted in $262,000 in donations that have been used to fund tattoo removal for 655 gang members.

Marguleas and his agents give 10 percent of commissions to one of six charities. Recipients of the more than $2.5 million that has been donated are Homeboy Industries, Make a Wish, American Cancer Society, People concern, Wags and Walks and Heal the Bay.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life but what we give,” Marguleas said.

A longtime Palisadian and realtor, Marguleas supports the Palisades Village Green with a $5,000 annual donation and, one year, stepped up and saved the Fourth of July parade with a $40,000-plus donation.

Amalfi Estates, which was founded in 1995 in Pacific Palisades, opened an office in Dallas in 2023.

The Wall Street Journal ranked the company in 2022 as one of the top 10 in the nation.

“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to give back and during Thanksgiving it is such a wonderful holiday to be able to appreciate – and be grateful for everything,” Marquleas said in a Thanksgiving message to the community.
