One reader wrote about the new Palisades Malibu Chamber name, PaliBu: “Although Palibu has a strange ring to it, ‘Malisades’ sounds like a rare form of a venereal disease.”
PUBLIC LIBRARY CLOSED
The Palisades Public Library is closed for the next three weeks for floor replacement. This might be a good chance to stop by Collection, Antiques and Books. Owner Jeff Ridgway is having a 50-percent-off sale on books through the end of August. He has a wide selection of classics, cookbooks and even “beach reads.” One reader reminded CTN of the sale and said, “Let’s keep this gem and Jeff.” The store is located at 15326 Antioch (310) 459-9692.
NATIONAL DOG DAY
National Dog Day was founded in 2004 by animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige. The Day celebrates all breeds, mixed and pure and serves to help the public realized the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year from shelters and bad situations, visit: https://www.nationaldogday.com/
Luna, a rescue (and working) dog, helped its owner, Shelby Pascoe, promote EVgo, one of the nation’s largest public electric vehicle charging networks, which is located in more than 30 states.
