BLUEBERRY PLANT

This editor had three blueberry plants on the eastside of her house. Because the house was stucco, the walls did not burn to ashes during the Palisades Fire, but sort of just collapsed onto the plants. Today at Home Depot, I told my husband I missed my blueberry plants – in truth I miss the yard, I miss my neighbors – and I miss the dog door, particularly when the dogs have intestinal disturbances as they have had for the past three nights.

Home Depot had blueberry plants, and one is now sitting on the apartment patio. The HD guy said it can probably stay in the current pot for a year. . .Maybe by then it can go back into my yard.

SICK ANIMAL? GO HERE:

When we all had to vacate the Palisades after the fire, those of us with pets had to find new veterinarians to take care of our animals. I like my new vet, but every time there was an illness there was a wait, sometimes a week, unless I wanted to bring the animal to the emergency room. My vet before the fire, Dr. Kathy Litochleb has reopened. I called her, and because so few people have moved back to the Palisades, she was able to take me that day. It was so nice to be back – and she spent a lot of time with me and Shadow.  She has a new dog, Rosy, a chihuahua, who has taken over the cat bed and looks intent at taking over the business.  Palisades Vet Center 853 Via de la Paz. The number is (310) 573-7707.

HIVE TOMORROW:

If you missed last week at the Hive, you missed some great gossip. Nope, not going to spill it. Residents displaced by the fire and still “living abroad” are invited to stop by the AMLI 4242 Via Marina in Marina del Rey, tomorrow. Everyone is welcomed to an informal weekly meeting, held around 8ish a.m. Stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.
