The Elizabeth Lamont Store and Design Studio reopened its doors on October 30, making it one of the first retail stores to open on the Village side of Sunset after the January 2025 Palisades Fire.

To celebrate the holidays a grand reopening party was held on December 6, with champagne flowing to welcome customers and residents into the store at 15221 Sunset Boulevard.

“After the devastating fires in early 2025 necessitated a temporary closure, we are back, ready and excited to serve our community once again,” owner Elizabeth Lamont said.

In addition to the people who are rebuilding from scratch, many residents with homes still standing had such significant smoke damage, that everything, furniture, pillows, blankets and rugs had to be thrown away.

Lamont’s store provides not only interior design advice, but is also a home furnishings boutique that offers luxury furniture, bedding and home accessories.

Lamont’s passion has aways been underpinned by the spirit of “The Beautiful Life.”

“Living ‘the beautiful life’ isn’t just about beautiful spaces—it’s about choosing hope, resilience, community connection and renewal,” she said.

The store carries numerous items that can be used as gifts for Christmas or Hanukkah, including candles, pillows and ornaments.

There is a bridal registry at the store. “We really take care of our brides,” Lamont said. The registry is online, so even if people are out-of-state, the store’s registry is connected to Zola, which allows people to select items the couple really desire.

The store has bedding, towels, napkin, and bar ware. All can be monogrammed – even the fluted champagne glasses that can be used for a toast.

“We have a design team,” Lamont said, “and our furniture is made here.”

She said for example if several families wanted to help the bride and groom with a special piece of furniture, such as a dinner table, the store could do that.
