George was deeply devoted to his family and spent every moment of his life supporting, empowering, and encouraging their dreams. His favorite moments were spent cheering on his children at their sporting events, exploring the world with his wife, and finding joy in life’s simplest pleasures, like discovering new gelato shops, admiring beach-side sunsets, spending afternoons on the water on his boat in Lake Arrowhead.

He and his family lost their home in the Pacific Palisades January Fire, and George spent his last year dealing with insurance, relocating and rebuilding.

His life was the perfect example of how to prioritize family while also building an incredibly accomplished career.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation in his honor, to help children facing severe illness enjoy meaningful and joyful experiences.

One Response to OBITUARY – George Bloom, Palisadian, Dad, CBS Executive

  1. David Taft DDS says:

George Bloom was one of my closest friends. We met in Mammoth at a lunch spot in the slopes and exchanged numbers. Soon after he moved to Pacific Palisades and we were best of friends. We skied together and played tennis and talked stocks. He was clever, artistic ,talented , very funny and we shared a ton of great times. I am so terribly distraught at his passing that I cannot imagine not ever speaking to him again. My brother in spirit may you rest in peace and I’m only pacified knowing you had a hell of a great time while you were alive.
