Floorish Is Open, Providing Immediate Flooring

Floorish owner Claire Buchanan-Gaughan is ready to help owners with their rebuild.

Floorish (known for many years as Carpets West), which was located on Via de la Paz, is open and ready for clients at a showroom on Lincoln Boulevard.

The Via store burned during the January Palisades Fire. Owner Claire Buchanan-Gaughan, who took over the business 18 years ago, said “I have been lucky enough to have built many wonderful relationships with Palisades residents, and I want to help the community get back in their homes,”

Floorish will supply and install wall-to-wall carpets, rugs, stair runners, custom drapes and hardwood, vinyl and laminate floors- as well as offering hardwood refinishing services. This could be an immediate and practical service for people remediating their homes.

People building new homes might want their contractors to reach out to Buchanan-Gaughan for flooring bids, to help support a local business.

Over the years, contractors would send customers to Floorish to look at products and then even borrow samples, only to purchase elsewhere, without even getting a bid from the Floorish owner.

“Over the last few years, I was selling more hardwood and contractors would tell me that my prices were comparable, and at times, even better than showrooms outside of West L.A.,” Buchanan-Gaughan said. “I want to make sure I am there for everyone with all budgets and to help as much as I can to get people back into their homes.”
