About the Community Garden/Beautification plan, David Card will present it. “This will be its first public showing,” Card said and added “It’s only a concept, subject to change based on community input, funding and other factors. The primary concepts are: a raised bed community garden next to the kids playground, native plants and trees, ground water replenishment, and a log seating area (for reading, etc.) next to the Library.”
Plantings would start outside of the playground, extend into the bowl below the Rec Center parking lot and on the land by the Palisades Library. That entire area is part of Rec and Parks.
“Council District 11 field deputy Michael Amster suggested a Palisades Community Garden. Valeria Serna met a landscape architect who offered this concept drawing,” Card said. “We discussed it at our last Palisades Forestry Committee meeting, and we thought it worthy of presentation.”
In addition to sitting on the PAB Board, Card is also the president of the Palisades Forestry committee and a former Pacific Palisades Community President.
Other PAB members include: Andy Starrels, Rick McGeagh, Maryam Zar, Janet Anderson, Rob Weber, Bob Benton, Mike Skinner, Mike Thomas, C.J. Laffer and Brooke Sutton.
